Purchasing a Puppy
ON PURCHASING A SHORTHAIR PUPPY
Prior to deciding to purchase a Shorthair there are some facts to consider:
Shorthairs
are extremely energetic dogs requiring exercise and mental stimulation.
This can be met by a daily run and some kind of games such as fetch,
hide and seek, and training for any one of the competitions available
which are listed on this website. A Shorthair left to its own
devices for long periods without human companionship can become quite a
handful and possibly destructive.

Children
are a Shorthair's best friend but as they can get quite boisterous it
is recommended that children always be supervised when playing with or
feeding their pet. As Shorthairs are hunting dogs, they can be prone to
chasing small animals, especially cats. In rural areas it is
important to realise they may also worry sheep, chickens, etc.
Therefore puppies must be socialised with different types of animals
from a young age and trained not to chase anything.
Why a VCA Reg istered Pup?
VCA
breeders spend hundreds of hours researching the breed and the
mechanics of breeding dogs to a high standard. They also
work to ensure their puppies are of the utmost quality by utilising
best breeding practices. Club breeders support their puppy
buyers, doing all they can to ensure that the new puppy turns out to be
everything you want and expect.
